Corning locals know that our city water isn’t the best tasting, and we haven’t been deaf to the occasional comments left by out-of-town guests. So recently we decided to take action, and we’ve had a RO filtration system installed here at The Cellar!
RO stands for reverse osmosis, which may be a term you recognize from high school science class. Reverse Osmosis is a process in which dissolved inorganic solids (ex: salts) are removed from a solution (ex: water). This is accomplished by household water pressure pushing the tap water through a semipermeable membrane, which filters out impurities and flushes them away.
The RO system has not only improved the quality of our drinking water at The Cellar, but that we also have higher-quality water to cook with. Everyone wins!
Also, have you noticed how clear our ice cubes are now?
